James Clark is Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence (www.greenchemistry.net ) which has about 100 people working on the valorization of waste and the development of green chemical technologies. He is also a director of the associated scale-up laboratory (www.biorenewables.org). He leads a number of multi-partner and multi-disciplinary projects, often with industry as well as multi-national networks including the Global Green Chemistry Centres (http://www.greenchemistrynetwork.org/g2c2/) and the worlds largest network dedicated to food supply chain waste valorisation (www.costeubis.org). He has won many prizes and awards globally for his work in research, education and the industry-academic interface and holds honorary doctorates from universities in Belgium, Germany and Sweden as well as Visiting Professorships in China and Africa.
