Bali Barume

Bali Barume is Project Manager at BGR, The Federal Institute of Geoscience and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hanover, Germany. Actually based in the Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he is responsible in particular for the implementation of the CTC (Certified Trading Chains) certification mechanism of ASM mining sites in South-Kivu, Noth-Kivu, Maniema, Katanga, and Province Oriental.

Before joining the BGR, he spent over 15 years in management positions in the mining and automotive industries in Africa and in the European Union (principally in France, Luxembourg and Germany).

Professor Barume is a faculty member in the department of Geology of the University UOB (Univeristé Official de Bukavu) in Bukavu/DRC. He teaches mineral processing and metallurgy since 2008. He holds an engineering degree and a PhD in mining from the Technical University of Berlin.
